How to Smokey Eye Makeup

Step 1
The first step for an effective smokey eye makeup is to select the right color. If you have gray or brown eyes, blues and violets will look good on you. Those having blue eyes should opt for blues or browns. For your smokey eye makeup, you will need:

•    three colors that belong to a similar shade
•    a highlight that resembles your skin tone and is a shimmer
•    a mid-tone of matte color that’s a shade darker than the color of your skin
•    a contour color in shimmer or matte which will be the darkest shade for you to use

Step2
Put the highlight on your brow bone directly and extend it till the eyes’ crease. Pat a small amount of the highlight in your eye ducts.

Apply the matte colored mid-tone on your eyelids. Begin the application at your eyelashes and move upwards till the eyes’ crease so that it blends well with the highlight color.

When you apply the contour color on your eyelids, begin at the eyelashes and spread the color as you move toward your eyes’ crease so that it blends well with the mid-tone. Remember to put the contour by the length of the bottom lashes.
