How To Create a Smoky Eye with Powder Eyeliner
Learn how to create sexy smoky eye makeup, get a little practice, and you’ll be better at applying this makeup. Achieving that effect does not require using fancy makeup brands. If you have powder eyeliner, that can already do the trick.

Start learning by following the steps below:
Apply everything except the concealer. Put on your makeup like the moisturizer, foundation, eyebrow color, and blush. You may apply lipstick after putting on the smoky eye if you are not yet sure what lipstick color to wear. If you decide to wear lipstick now, then choose a neutral color. Other makeup color should downplay if you don’t want to look overly tinted.
Apply the eye shadow base on the eye lids. It can be anything with a neutral color like a foundation, or concealer. But a neutral color eye shadow is the safest and best option especially if you’ll be using something that gives a bit shimmer. If you don’t have this, then use an oil-free foundation or concealer. Oil-based make-up will only make the powder eyeliner fall when it is applied over it. Wait until the base is dry before you start working on the smoky eye.
Apply the background. This will add to the smoky effect. Use something that shimmers, not glitters. Silver colors and hues of white will be great as the color base. This layer should be applied from the eye lid to the brow bone.
Apply the eyeliner. Be careful when choosing the color to line the eyes. It should be the same or darker than the powder eyeliner. Better use the powder eyeliner that you will be using for the smoky eye effect. Most powder eyeliners can be dipped a bit into the water and will give a longer-lasting effect. The eye liner should be as close as possible to the eye lashes. Soften the eye liner by smudging it using an eye shadow brush.

Apply the powder eyeliner. Using the eyeliner applicator, apply your powder eyeliner on the eyelid. Gently smudge the color using the applicator or the tip of your pinky finger. Apply more powder eyeliner just above the first layer you have already applied. Smudge this layer again until the smudge covers the area below the brow bone. You are doing it rightly if the effect is oval-shaped when you close your eyes.
Apply only the smudge-effect on the lower lid. The makeup on the lower portion should not be as dark as the one above. Applying the powder eyeliner under the eye is better less than more or you will look like a panda bear.
Apply black mascara. Make two to three coats of mascara on top and bottom part of the eye. Let the mascara to dry.
